Previous Missions: "A Firebell in the Night" (FIREBELL.ZIP) The Story: ****See the text files for the previous missions so you can get the complete story**** The recent appointments to the UN have sparked heated controversy within GDI. Almost half of GDI has "seceded" from the UN-controled GDI, and have set up their own organization. Calling themselves CDI (The Corrupted Defense Initiative - we aren't sure if that's supposed to describe them, or mock us) they have declared two goals: 1) the elimination of international terrorism in a effort to preserve freedom, and 2) The elimination of the traitors in the UN and GDI forces. Roughly half of the GDI forces in your section (the European continent) have seceded into CDI. Your objective is to reclaim the CDI base in the east. This base was to be used to attack the NOD base in the north. Unfortunately, there is a large ridge separating our forces from the CDI base. Now we have to set up a new base, destroy the NOD base, and reclaim the CDI base. Hopefully CDI might help us a bit by launching their own attack against NOD. After all, they clam their first goal is still the same as ours. Once NOD has been eliminated, all you have to do is recapture the CDI base. IT IS NOT TO BE DESTROYED. Anymore then 5 buildings lost will be considered destruction, as will the destruction of the Construction Yard. Since we are still unsure of whether or not all of the traitors have left the GDI forces or if they are still with us, the building level is still restricted, however, we have increased it to level 2. This might not mean much to you, but it does give somewhat more ablity. We will be sending you reinforce- ments consisting of Hum-Vees and engineers occasionally. Good luck, commander.
